Lagos State shows support for Organic and Agribusiness Conference

The commissioner for agriculture of Lagos State, Abisola Olusanya, has assured the organisers of the Organic and Agribusiness Exhibition and Conference that a group of at least 50 farmers from Lagos state will be participating in the conference, from the coffers of the Ministry of Agriculture Lagos State

This happened after serial meetings between the CEO of Pan Africa Trade Fair Rasheedah Fagbayi and Olusanya. The event is scheduled to be held virtually and on site at Sandralia Hotel in Abuja from 28 to 31 October 2021 and gives a chance to farmers to learn new means of sustaining their trade and available economic opportunities.

“The conference and exhibition with experienced speakers from across Africa is an important event and offers the possibility of enhancing the capacity development of our local farmers. It will help them in making continental collaborations, networking and exchange of information, which is important at this time to boost their capacities,” Olusanya said, while speaking to aamn.

“We are on the look out for opportunities that events like these offer, for the growth of our local farmers and will ensure the participation of Lagos State farmers at this event. I assure you the support of the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture,” she added.

Fagbayi praised Olusanya for her innovative leadership and for understanding the importance and relevance of the exhibition and conference. “We are looking forward to host the Lagos State farmers as their All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Chapter are already confirmed for participation at the event.”

“Renowned speakers and experts selected from across the continent will inform farmers and delegates about environmental and financial benefits of adopting and investing in organic agriculture and organic agribusiness. The information shared will add value, empower participants and create networking opportunities locally and globally for them,” she added.

“The live/virtual conference will create a platform for product exposure, generate new leads and also build a relationship with attendees who can’t attend the live event in person. It will also add value to all stakeholders in the value chain which includes small, medium and commercial farmers, in public and private sectors engaged in agribusiness both locally and globally,” Fagbayi added.
