Pas Reform signs global agreement with Watter

Pas Reform has signed an exclusive, worldwide Agreement with Dutch firm Watter, a winner of the Shell LiveWIRE Young Business Award, to supply ‘Nontox’ Electrical Chemical Activation (ECA) disinfection technology for the hatchery sector

Nontox ECA technology harnesses the power of naturally occurring oxidants - using water, salt and electricity to produce a powerful, safe and highly sustainable non-toxic disinfectant that is proven effective in neutralising viruses and bacteria.

As with SmartPro incubation systems and the incorporation of Microban into hatchery consumables, this latest innovation signals a further, important step in Pas Reform’s strategic commitment to delivering exemplary hygiene in the modern hatchery.

“Nontox is easily, reliably and sustainably produced on demand, on site”, explains Pas Reform CEO Bart Aangenendt. “Using the Watter system will not only reduce the cost burden of purchasing chemicals and disinfectants, but by meeting the most stringent hygiene requirements - Nontox could have further reaching implications, by actively reducing the use of antibiotics in the poultry industry.”

Tests

Independent tests carried out by Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) and the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), have found Watter’s ECA system to be effective in six key EN standards for the disinfection of Food, Hands, Medical Instruments, Rooms, Surfaces and Water Sources. Trials have also shown that Nontox successfully and sustainably eliminates harmful bacteria and viruses, including E.Coli and Salmonella.

Under the new Agreement, Pas Reform holds an exclusive license for all Watter products. Well-known for its innovations and advances in the hatchery sector around the world, Pas Reform will work in consultation with Watter to develop new applications for Nontox in a variety of hatchery disinfection applications.

Watter Nontox is patented worldwide and will, says Bart Aangenendt, revolutionise the way modern hatcheries - and indeed modern poultry businesses generally – safeguard their people and their flocks against challenges to hygiene, health and welfare.

“Self-reliance in the sustainable production of a completely safe (non toxic), highly effective and inexpensive disinfectant has enormous implications, not only for hatcheries, but for poultry businesses throughout the production chain” concludes Watter® Director, Arjan Koop.

“We are very excited about this new partnership with Pas Reform - and look forward to working together in this high growth sector.”
