The LAMMA Show, one of the leading agricultural machinery equipment and service show in UK, will return to Birmingham NEC on May 4 and 5 for its 40th anniversary event
More than 600 exhibitors and tens of thousands of leading farmers from across all sectors and regions are expected to visit over the two days.
Originally planned for January, the show was postponed amid concerns over the Omicron variant of Covid-19. However, with all restrictions now lifted, LAMMA 2022 is going ahead unhindered allowing the agricultural industry to reconnect after a difficult couple of years.
Chris Taylor from the National Farmers' Union of England and Wales (NFU) said he and his colleagues were looking forward to seeing visitors. “The NFU is delighted that LAMMA has secured new dates in May to enable this key agricultural event to go ahead in 2022. It’s more important than ever that we make up for the many lost face to face opportunities due to the pandemic, and LAMMA presents us with the opportunity to engage with thousands of our members over the two days.”
Kubota will be using the event to unveil its M6-001 Utility series tractor range. Marketing manager Rob Edwards said LAMMA had the 'presence and scale’ to showcase its new products, as well as positively promoting the wider industry and machinery sector. "We like LAMMA and it represents the scale and significant profile of the industry," he said.
James Hudson of agricultural engineers JF Hudson said this is their first trade show in two years and a chance to connect and launch new products. “People in the sector are very resilient and innovative. There have been many changes and developments within agriculture so we are also looking forward to seeing what other exhibitors are showcasing.”
Nichola Bell, Marketing Lead at Agriconnect added, “We are so excited to be opening the doors to LAMMA 2022 at last. As well as getting up to date with the latest machinery, technology and other innovations across nine halls, visitors can enjoy some nostalgia in our new Classics Zone supported by Classic Tractor magazine. Our anniversary celebrations will showcase the incredible progress made across the industry since the first LAMMA Show 40 years ago. We will more be announcing more exciting new features in the coming weeks.”
The Classics Zone will take visitors on a brief history of agricultural machinery with its fascinating line-up of vintage tractors and implements.
Conversely, the Farming 4.0 trail will highlight cutting edge innovations being introduced across the industry including smart tech for livestock, big data and AI. Follow the trail to see technology in action and learn how it is helping agriculture towards its Net Zero goal.
