Kenya to host international extension conference

An international conference to take stock of current policies, thinking and practice and, successes and failures of ongoing and past reforms in extension and advisory services will be held in Nairobi, Kenya on 15 to 18 November, 2011

To be conducted by the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Co-operation (CTA), the conference will specifically address how to meet the future needs of small-holder farmers, marginalised communities, women and youth and provide policy advice on future options for delivering sustainable and cost effective services that impact on food security and livelihoods.

It will be held under the theme: Innovations in Extension and Advisory Services.

The Conference is open to extension practitioners from public, private and civil society organisations including representatives of farmers’organisations and commodity associations, policy makers, the research and development community, academia, donors, financial institutions and the media.
