TANZANIA Agricultural Transformation Grant (TATG) has intended its commitment to develop a region-wide strategic plan for improving sunflower farming and addressing challenges facing farmers in the area
As reported in the Daily News, the initiative, under the advocacy of Dalberg Global Development Advisors, aims to strengthen the region’s sunflower value chain through better coordination, connection and private sector inclusion.
TATG focuses on capacitating the regional secretariat and local government authorities (LGA) to support the improvement of the sunflower farming value chain in Dodoma Region, said Ellykedo Ngonyani, project manager of the TATG, noted the source.
According to the source, the three-year programme intends to attract more investors in sunflower agriculture in the region and is expected to impart knowledge on good agronomic practices to farmers.
