AgriBusiness Congress to boost Zambian agriculture sector

Zambia is set to host the first AgriBusiness Congress 2012 this September, which will promote the development of the country’s agricultural sector

The two-day investment and technical forum will bring both regional and international stakeholders together to discuss and analyse critical issues, such as regional southern Africa trade, the role of the private sector, infrastructure development, and access to finance.

AgriBusiness Congress programme director Claire O’Connell explained, “Zambia is well positioned to benefit from the development of its existing commercial farming and agribusiness sector and leverage the inclusion of its emerging small scale farming sector in commercial agribusiness value chains.”

The event, which will take place at the Intercontinental Hotel in Lusaka from 5-6 September 2012, will also include case studies from technical experts, as well as the opportunity to make connections with potential investors, traders, and project developers.
