Agribusiness summit to boost multiple sectors in Nigeria and beyond

From coffee to cassava, the 2nd edition of African Farming’s Agroinvestment Summit will have a strong focus on investing in crops with the potential to transform the Nigerian economy, invigorate the export market and benefit countries across West Africa and the wider continent

The event will be held from August 27-28 at the Transcorp Hilton hotel.

Following on from a successful launch event in London last year, for 2019, the summit moves to Abuja, ensuring investors and agribusiness entrepreneurs can make connections within Africa.

The confirmed speakers represent a broad cross-section of agricultural and food production sectors, including coffee, tropical root crops, flour milling, fertilisers, seed research and development, and cold chain technology. Additionally, the events team at African Farming and Food Processing magazine have confirmed speakers from leading organisations including Nigeria Agribusiness Group, Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Nigeria Investment Promotions Commission and the Nigerian Association of Agricultural Economists.

“For our second summit, we have brought together speakers who will be able to share the very best information on investing in sectors along the entire agriculture value chain,” said Martyn Diamond Black, head of events and training, Alain Charles Publishing. “Delegates will be able to hear from top government officials, leaders in the finance sector, prestigious academics, industry suppliers and influential associations about maximising opportunities and expanding into exciting markets on an international level.”

The conference will be launched with an overview on Nigerian agriculture from Emmanuel Ijewere, Vice President, Nigeria Agribusiness Group. Panel discussions will also feature on the programme, including a panel on technology for sowing, fertilising and irrigation, and getting produce from field to market.
