Annan and Gates to attend agricultural forum in Tanzania

Former UN secretary general, Kofi Annan, and Melinda Gates, the wife of Microsoft chairman, Bill Gates, will be among the key speakers at the upcoming African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF)

The forum will take place in Arusha, Tanzania, from 26-28 September.

AGRF spokesperson, Tshego Kekana, said that Tanzanian president, Jakaya Kikwete, IFAD president, Kanayo Nwanze, and the president of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr Donald Kaberuka, are also expected to attend AGRF 2012.

The forum will provide a platform for discussions concerning the right ways to scale up investments and innovation for sustainable agricultural growth and food security.

The forum will take place at Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge in Arusha’s Meru District where delegates will discuss the future of agricultural development in Tanzania and across Africa.
