Chinedu Moghalu named head of communications and advocacy for Africa Risk Capacity

Chinedu Moghalu from Nigeria was appointed as the senior communications specialist or head, communications and advocacy for the Africa Risk Capacity based in Johannesburg, South Africa

The African Risk Capacity is an agency of the African Union that helps African countries with early warning, contingency planning and risk finance aimed at protecting citizens against natural disasters.

Moghalu will lead African Risk Capacity’s efforts in communicating the agency’s work to the member states and the international community.

Moghalu previously served as the regional head of Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM) for the Southeast and Delta states in Nigeria and as the head of the corporate communication division at its headquarters in Abuja.

Moghalu worked for more than 10 years with various UN agencies, including the ILO and the Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Moghalu is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, International Bar Association, International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and sits on the Board of the Chigari Foundation.
