The ninth Eastern and Southern African Dairy Association conference and exhibition opened on 24 September 2013 at the Sango conference centre, Cresta Lodge in Harare, Zimbabwe

The Esada conference and exhibition welcomed delegates from 40 countries across Africa, event organisers said.

Zimbabwe Diary Industry Trust chairperson, Thompson Mabika, stated that the conference would highlight investment plans within the Zimbabwean dairy sector to both regional and international delegates and stakeholders.

"It is an opportunity to share experiences with other countries experiencing similar challenges and those who have managed to overcome such challenges," Mabika said.

"It will also provide a link with key suppliers of various inputs required by the industry as well as networking for potential export markets for Zimbabwean produce.

"A total of 28 renowned regional and international speakers from South Africa, Rwanda, the UAE, Zambia, the US, Germany and Zimbabwe will deliver presentations covering the entire value chain of production, processing, marketing."

The indaba is due to end today, 26 September 2013.
