Set to take place next week from February 9 to February 12, 2021, the virtual EuroTier event will see German specialty chemical specialist, Evonik Industries, showcase its extended range of products and services beyond the essential amino acids.
Head of the animal nutrition product line at Evonik, Dr Emmanuel Auer, said: "We want to support our customers in producing healthy and high-quality animal protein in both an efficient and sustainable way, and we are convinced that only healthy animals provide healthy food."
Evonik and its life sciences division, Nutrition & Care, focus on the well-being of both animals and humans, starting with the health benefits of 'low protein diet concepts' based on amino acid supplementation. Its next focus level is using probiotics to strengthen the intestinal health of animals, with Torben Madsen, head of the Sustainable Healthy Nutrition product line, explaining: "They can help substitute the use of growth-promoting antibiotics." Of these products, the latest probiotic is Ecobiol Fizz, a tablet designed for distribution via a poultry farm's drinking water system.
GuanAMINO, a guanidino acetic acid product, supports the energy metabolism of livestock, improving feed conversion and animal performance. Mandsen added: "So far, GAA has been used primarily in broilers, but pigs, ruminants, and fish diets also benefit from supplementation with GuanAMINO."
Of the company's digital product range includes monitoring and intelligent data management system Porphyrio, one of the leading digital solutions in poultry nutrition and farming.
The company's new near-infrared spectroscopy service, AMINONIR Portable, is the first in the world to analyse amino acids, indepedently of a lab, within minutes. This allows farmers to undertake rapid on-site quality checks and make informed decisions at critical moments in feed production.
