In less than two weeks the first international horticulture and floriculture trade show “Hortiflor” will be held from 9-11 October 2018 in the Harare International Convention Centre (HICC) in Zimbabwe
Organised by HPP Exhibitions, the show will focus on Zimbabwe’s horticulture sector.
There is an enormous enthusiasm among the growers in Zimbabwe to start exporting again and a loud buzz going around that the moment “to take off” has come.
It is therefore bound to happen, and with the knowledge that Zimbabwe once was the second largest exporter of African fresh flowers and fresh produce, it doesn’t need a lot of imagination that Zimbabwe is on the move and cannot be stopped anymore.
Especially with the new warm welcome policy of the Zimbabwean government to the world to invest in its horticulture and floriculture sector, it is not if but a matter of when Zimbabwe will recapture its place in the top three of biggest African export nations of flowers, vegetables and fruits.
And although it will for sure take a couple of years before the mission will be accomplished, momentum is there now.
