IPM Essen horticulture exhibition attracts 60,000 trade visitors

More than 1,500 exhibitors from 46 different countries presented their products and services to 60,000 attendees at the 31st IPM Essen exhibition in Essen, Germany, earlier this month

A platform for worldwide commerce in the green sector, the International Trade Fair For Plants at Messe Essen, saw more than 35 per cent of visitors placing orders with exhibitors at the event, according to the event's organisers.

“That emphasises the significance of IPM Essen as the number one. The worldwide range available in the green sector and the international demand encounter each other here,” commented Frank Thorwirth, chairman and CEO of Messe Essen.

Jürgen Mertz, President of IPM ESSEN sponsor Zentralverband Gartenbau, showed his enthusiasm for the show by stating that it had opened up many networking opportunities.

Mertz said, “I am enthusiastic about the frankness of the exhibitors, the partners and the trade visitors in the dialogue with each other.

“The outstanding success of IPM 2013 is marked by the international spirit: Here once again, important networks were strengthened and impressive technical and product innovations were introduced.”
