German horticultural trade fair IPM ESSEN is set to return early next year after the events International Advisory Board established a framework for the 2014 edition of the show
Scheduled to take place at Messe Essen from 28-31 January 2014, the event will look to attract more than 1,500 exhibitors as it pushes its claim to be the 'green sector's leading marketplace'.
In 2013, more than 57,000 trade visitors from more than 100 countries attended IPM ESSEN, providing the event with a high level of international visibility.
Along with a host of new features at the show, the 2014 edition will see the returning Horticultural Forum cover countries beyond Eastern Europe for the first time as it adopts the new name of the "International Horticultural Forum".
Other highlights at the 2014 will include demonstrations from the stars of the floristry scene in the FDF Creative Centre, the Innovation Showcase, the Colour Your Life Award and the IPM Fair Cup.
Among the country's set to push their horticultural sector for the first time at the show in 2014 will be Turkey, with experts set to hold a series of lectures on market opportunities and the economic situation within the country, which straddles the border between Europe and Asia.
Visitors from 33 Asian countries attended the show in 2013, representing a rise from the 24 countries from Asia who were in attendance in 2012 – a growing trend the show organisers will be looking to replicate in January 2014. African companies, meanwhile, will also have the opportunity to promote the continent's blossoming horticulture industry to potential customers from all over the world at the event.
