Marel Poultry empowers progress at EuroTier as innovative processing developments meet future demands
No less than four global launches, as well as numerous other innovations, will be revealed by Marel Poultry at EuroTier 2016 in Hannover, Germany. The new Stork live bird handling system has won the EuroTier 2016 Innovation Award. This revolutionary solution gives high attention to animal welfare, while rising efficiency considerably. Thanks to the ingenious design of the SmartStack transportation module, loading capacity can increase up to 38 per cent, which means fewer truck movements and less CO2 emission. At the same time, more space is available per bird. In the supply chain, handling remains animal-friendly all the time, during transport and in the plant the birds stay calmly in their spacious trays. Only after having lost consciousness, the broilers are shackled to enter the process.
At the moment deboned thigh meat is quickly gaining popularity worldwide. Consumers around the globe have begun rating chicken thigh fillets at an equal or even higher level than breast fillets, as a result of its succulent taste. Marel Poultry already foresaw this trend and created the world's first inline high-capacity thigh filleting solution. With utmost efficiency and consistency, the bone is carefully separated from the meat, in order to supply retail quality thigh fillets. Meanwhile, the knee cap is removed accurately and at no point in the process, there's a need for manual trimming.
In a poultry processing plant, the multitude of processes needs coordinating software to control, monitor and improve efficiency.
