The Jacaranda Agricultural Show held between 23-30 August 2014 at the Tshwane Events Centre in South Africa was deemed a success by event organisers
According to Tshwabac, all the targets event organisers set for the show had been reached.
"Our goal was to present the agriculture community in particular with a business-to-business platform where they could network and explore new opportunities. We have received feedback from those who attended the show and they’re very impressed with the way in which the whole event was structured. This gives us a solid platform to build upon for future shows," said Wim du Toit, CEO of Tshwabac.
The Jacaranda Business Pavilion was dedicated to the business community and the Agricultural Factory Pavilion, showcasing fresh produce also received a thumbs up from visitors.
“The diverse live-stock categories, which represented the cream of South Africa’s cattle crop to sheep, goats and the cute and cuddly ’feather and furs’ were once again a winning attraction for young and old. We were also fortunate to welcome the birth of a new Hugenot calf during the course of the show,” added du Toit.
Other highlights of the show included a SABC-2 Living Land workshop that hosted about 250 emerging farmers and specifically focussed on new technology and the youth. The annual Jacaranda Future Farmers Youth Show provided a platform for young farmers to showcase their knowledge and expertise in the field of agriculture yet again.
