Zimbabwe to host ApiExpo Africa 2014

Preparations are underway to host the Api-Expo Africa 2014 international conference in Harare, Zimbabwe on 6-11 October 2014 , according to Api-Trade Africa secretariat and the Zimbabwe Api-Expo Africa 2014 local organising secretariat

More than 3,000 delegates and exhibitors expected to attend the event under the theme: Beekeeping for economic empowerment in Africa from different parts of the world, event organisers revealed.

According to the Api-Trade Africa Secretariat, Api-Expo Africa 2014 is being organised by Api-Trade Africa, the Beekeepers Association of Zimbabwe (BKAZ) and the government of Zimbabwe.

“The event will comprise of several concurrent events which include conferences, exhibitions, B2B meetings, educational and technical tours taking place at and around the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC),” a secretariat spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added that the event will bring together more than 3,000 delegates and exhibitors from Africa, the Middle East, Europe, USA and other parts of the world.

The participants are expected to exhibit services and products pertinent to the apiculture value chain including honey, wax and other bee products, inputs and technologies.

“The conference will bring together diverse national, regional, continental and global level researchers, policy makers, honey trade support networks from NGOs and the public and private sector, development partners, international media and other stakeholders on a single platform to discuss and share knowledge on trade and business related approaches and promote apiculture and how it relates to economic empowerment of the African people,” the secretariat said.
